The Bela Vista Biological Sanctuary was created during de 70s, when Itaipu Dam was getting ready to fill its reservoir. This space had only one reason: to rescue animals displaced by the flood.
There are around 50 species, like ocelots, harpy eagles, monkeys, anteaters and even jaguars. During the two kilometers trail, surrounded by native forest, besides looking at these animals, the guide also gives us a practical classroom about environmental awareness and species preservation, since some lodged by the Sanctuary are in danger of extinction.
